Meadow Creek
East of Idaho City
Hosted by "Happy Trails" Robin and "Die Hards II" Candy and Mike
and their trusty steeds Scotty, Sissy, and Jimmy
A nice ride you could ride many different ways (and people did!) with beautiful scenery and a fun theme!
Friday
Boy, the river/reservoir is LOW!
Smokey!
Candy and Mike did a great job of signage!
Ran into Christine and Lee out for an afternoon ride

Deuce all tuckered out
The Gathering at "Midway" (midway between headquarters and campers)
and Lee and Christine brought over their fire pit
Saturday
First out of camp: "Brush Poppers" Wendy and Brandy, Jesse and Sage
We were surprised they headed out of camp that way...
Toni and Nemo
John and Shorty
"3 Amigos" Chris and Skip, Toni and Nemo, John and Shorty
Count down to get the map
Almost there...

And they went out of camp that way, too...
Deuce seeing off the teams
"Hot to Trot" Darrell and Chica, Rita and Holly
And they went out that way, too...
"Wanderers" Stasia and Bozo, Patty and Honey
They started out that way... then Stacia stopped and tried to talk Patty into
going the other way...
But in the end, they went out that way, too...
"Hot Tin Foil" Laurajean and JJ, Shane and Ella, Ellen and Ernie
And they went out that way, too...
"Lucky Lady" Kathryn and Rock
She went out the way we thought everybody would go
Lee and Christine relaxing and enjoying breakfast before going out last
The Stagecoach Gaited Posse even has their horses in perfect step!
"The Stagecoach Gaited Posse" Derek and Willie, Lisa and Ruby, Terry and
Peppermint
And they, too, went out that way...
Mike is great at photobombs! LOL
My wonderful helpers for this ride! (I actually feel like I helped them not the
other way around)
The Starting Stump: Friends Gather Here
"Zipper Lips" Raina and Whiskey, Bob and Billy, Barry and Bit
They looked over their maps for a long time
Then they went out of camp the way we thought everyone would
Last, but not least, "Renegades" Christine and Mystic, Lee and Shadow
They went out of camp that way...
Just kidding.
We set the ride backwards, and since most went that way, it should look familiar in this order:
The landmark we made when we set the ride...
The landmark we had to replace it with (since someone stole our landmark)
We came across a momma and baby bear
(mom ran so fast I didn't get a picture of her, but the baby posed for me) Sissy
was really NOT impressed!
A little blood was shed making this trail passable
Again, the landmark as we set it...
The landmark as seen on the ride (since someone stole our sign)
Candy's pumpkin
Friday night the marker was still there...
But this is all teams found on the ride
We suspect the guys that camped here after we checked markers on Friday
afternoon
(though they denied it when Christine asked them)
Mike resting while we were setting it
Jimmy begging for a bite of Candy's snack
Everyone that went this way took this trail
But we decided to take the road (a little longer but not as steep)
I hear riders coming
Brush Poppers
Jake
Lucky Lady
Hot Tin Foil
And Hot to Trot
Zipper Lips
Part of 3 Amigos (Skip went lame, so they came back slowly while John went on to
get the rest of the markers)
Renegades
Lee gets bonus points for drawing what happened to the #3 marker!
The rest of 3 Amigos
Stagecoach Gaited Pose
Wanderers
Wonderful to have Candy and Mike's tent to congregate under!
Good Food, Good Friends, and Good Stories!
The FANTASTIC awards Candy made!

Woodland Pinedrops (Pterospora)
Pinedrops is a member of the Indian-pipe family (Monotropaceae).
Pinedrops is a root parasite, depending on its association with a mycorrhizal
fungus
that is also associated with a pine tree. Pinedrops produces very little
chlorophyll
and is therefore not green in color and does not conduct photosynthesis.
